These people are deranged morons. Unless the punishment for this type of behavior––including the road blockages, artwork defacement, and so on––is immediate and long-term imprisonment the antics will continue.

This piece in @TheLancet—by its editor in chief, no less—is extremely ill advised. Even if one agreed with its sentiments, which were expressed with the stylistic and intellectual sophistication of a college freshman, nakedly political screeds do not befit medical journals.
